I Decide

IDecide / Decido

Project Manager: Rebecca Mase, M.S.W.
Principle Investigator: Dr. Michele Heisler, M.D.

The iDecide.Decido project is a randomized controlled trial that seeks to learn whether adding an iPad decision-aid to the interventions of the Community Health Workers will improve clients' knowlege, self managment and commitment to their diabetes medication regimens. The decision-aid is available in both English and Spanish and presents diabetes medication information targeted to the individual client in an engaging manner. The decision-aid makes use of the iPad's capabilities to allow the client to direct the program by choosing from menus of information, animated videos and action-planning features.

Funding: Department of Health and Human Services Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ))
Timeline: September 2011 - September 2012.
